Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], June 19: The FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) Ahmedabad chapter delighted members with an exclusive session titled “Reel Reflections: A Journey in Reviving Classic Cinema,” featuring iconic Bollywood actress Sharmila Tagore.
The event, attended by more than 150 FLO Ahmedabad members and invitees, was a blend of cultural revival, cinematic nostalgia, and artistic expression.
Articulating the chapter’s vision for the year, Kiran Sewani, Chairperson of FLO Ahmedabad, said, “Our theme for this year is revival, art, culture, and heritage. We wanted to talk about the evolution of movies over the years and decided that we would be inviting a veteran actress to address our members. Who better than Sharmila Tagore ji to do so? It was truly our privilege to host her and listen to her.”
The legendary actor Sharmila Tagore captivated the audience with stories from her illustrious film career and shared her perspectives on the evolution of cinema, comparing the timeless charm of classic films with the dynamic nature of modern movies.
Commending FLO, she said, “I have been associated with FLO for many years and attended many of their events. FLO Ahmedabad chapter and Kiran Sewani are doing very good work. Their commitment and interest in reviving classic art and culture is inspiring.”
The event, organised at Hyatt Vastrapur on Saturday, commenced with an insightful talk on lab-grown diamonds, followed by a glamorous ramp walk, where FLO members showcased exquisite designer neckpieces. The session was a resounding success, leaving the participants inspired by the blend of classic and modern elements.
